Here.

In the universe of numbers, equations and axioms, it is often said that mathematics is the language with which we describe reality. In this endless cosmos, we move forward, inevitably and unchangingly present in a constant state of 'being here'. The purpose of this article is to explore a mathematical-philosophical framework that articulates this universal experience of 'here' and explain the implications of this 'here' overcrowding.

The Mathematical Here

The concept 'here' can be seen as a zero point in mathematical space, a Cartesian coordinate (0,0,0) in a three-dimensional system. However, this place anchoring is not static, but dynamic and context-related. Every person carries this zero point with them, regardless of their position in space. Thus, when one moves, this zero point shifts simultaneously, like a walking origin of a coordinate system, constantly defining 'here' as the location of the self.

The Philosophy of Here

From a philosophical perspective, 'here' is not only a location, but also a cognitive anchor point, a subjective experience deeper than the material world. The 'here' represents our permanent presence in the present moment. This is beautifully depicted in the words of TS Eliot: “Wherever we are, that is where we begin.” We are the epicenter of our own worlds, always tethered to the 'here and now'.

The 'Here' Overcrowding Phenomenon

As each individual forms his or her own 'here', it becomes clear that our collective reality is an amalgamation of a multitude of 'heres'. This results in what we can think of as a 'here' overcrowding phenomenon. Each individual 'here' converges to create a shared reality, a 'mega-here', constantly expanded and distorted by the collective experiences of its inhabitants.

Conclusion

In this ever-expanding sea of individuality and subjectivity, the concept of 'here' expresses a universal truth: Wherever we are, we are always 'here'. It is not only a location, but also a state of being, a constant affirmation of our existence. We thus come to the conclusion that the 'here' is ultimately quite busy, filled with the ghosts of countless co-existing coordinate systems, all motionlessly grounded in their own moment of now.

This brings us to the intriguing possibility that every 'here' – every zero point – is part of a complex and dynamic network of 'heres', each interacting and influencing the other in this beautiful dance of existence. Our shared 'here' experience is then nothing less than a poetic symphony, an endless harmony of coexistence in the infinite space of the universe.

Wherever you are, you are always 'here', in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the human experience. But let us not forget, even in this hustle and bustle, there is always room to breathe, reflect and appreciate that we are all part of this beautiful, poetic and complex dance we call life.
