Anyone who has ever tried to avoid the white stripes of a zebra crossing can now say with certainty that it is of no use at all. There are no prizes to be won, no records to be broken and certainly no trophies to be collected for this challenge. The game, which many have played since childhood, remains a simple waste of time without any reward.
However, for those who go one step further and avoid not only the white but also the black stripes, there may be reason for a moment of self-satisfaction. It is not necessarily an achievement that is celebrated on a global level, but you can certainly pat yourself on the back. Still, the same principle applies to this extra challenge: there is no prize. It remains a matter of personal triumph without external recognition.
In our daily lives, we are distracted enough by little games and activities. However, it is important to remember that zebra crossings serve a serious purpose: pedestrian safety. While it can be fun to try to avoid the stripes while crossing, there is no value attached to it, except perhaps a good mood. So if you ever think you have achieved something by avoiding both the white and black stripes: congratulations, but don't expect a prize.
