Dear citizens,
We live in a time of constant innovation, technological advancement and profound change. Our government's job is to keep pace with this evolution and ensure that the laws and regulations we apply are appropriate for the world we live in.
It is in this spirit that we announce a new tax initiative, which may sound somewhat unconventional, but which, on reflection, is logical and necessary in our increasingly complex society.
As you know, almost every household uses mirrors – in the bathroom, in the hallway, above the sink. We are used to the utility and aesthetics they provide. But have we ever considered the implications of what mirrors actually do? They reflect light, yes, but in this process they also create copies of our reality, duplicating our environment and thus taking up space.
Until now we have overlooked this “mirror space”. But in a world where physical space is becoming increasingly valuable and virtual space is gaining influence, it is essential that we examine these aspects of our daily lives.
That is why today we are announcing the implementation of the “Mirror Tax”. This is a modest levy on the use of mirrors in homes, businesses, and public spaces. This tax will not be based on the number or size of the mirrors, but on the amount of reflected space they create.
We understand that this may be a surprising announcement and we want to assure you that we will provide comprehensive information to make this transition as smooth as possible. There will be discounts and exemptions for low-income households, and there will be a transition period for people to adjust to these new regulations.
We recognize that this is a unique and innovative idea, and we are confident that it will help us interact with the world around us in a more sustainable and conscious way. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this new measure, and we look forward to working with you to create a new era of fiscal responsibility and awareness.
Kind regards,
the government
