Traffic light

Traffic light poetry: A creative way to promote poetry

Poetry is an art form that has been practiced for centuries. Writing poetry can be therapeutic, help express emotions and stimulate creativity. Yet many people find it difficult to start poetry because they don't know where to start or because they don't think they have enough talent. To help aspiring poets and to integrate poetry into everyday life, I suggest placing poets at every pedestrian traffic light so that they can recite poetic poems related to the actual colors of the traffic light.

The idea is simple: at every traffic light there is a poet who recites a poem that relates to the color of the traffic light. When the traffic light is green, the poet can, for example, recite a poem about fresh, new beginnings. When the traffic light is red, the poet can recite a poem about patience or delay. In this way, the different colors of the traffic light are integrated into the poems and a connection is made between poetry and everyday life.

An example of a poem about the red light:

Red light, just pause for a while

Time sometimes moves too fast, it's what I file

Let the red light force you to rest

And let the green light give you new energy, behest

This poem is about the power of the red light to force us to stop and pause for a moment. By seeing the traffic light as a moment of rest, we can recharge for the next step. The green light symbolizes the new energy we get to continue.

Placing poets at traffic lights and having their poems recited makes poetry more accessible to the general public. The public can enjoy poetry this way while they wait for the green light to proceed. In addition, it is also a great way to help aspiring poets and to promote poetry.

In conclusion, traffic light poetry is a creative way to integrate poetry into everyday life. Placing poets at traffic lights makes poetry more accessible and allows us to enjoy the beauty of words while we wait. So let's turn our traffic lights in the city into poetic places where poets recite their poems and where we can enjoy the power of poetry.
