It seemed as if the clouds themselves had been torn apart by an invisible force. People ran through the streets, their eyes filled with panic, their hands empty as if nothing held them steady. The end of the world had come not from fire or water, but from doubt. A single thought, spoken softly but deadly in its consequences: <em>What if bread isn&#039;t what we always thought it was?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because imagine\u2014and I&#039;m not alone in imagining this, I know\u2014that the sandwich isn&#039;t just any food. No, the sandwich is humanity&#039;s first and last shield. An edible napkin, conceived by ancestors who thought beyond hunger. I see the smoke rising, I hear the echoes of despair\u2014and I step forward with a sandwich in my hand. A hero doesn&#039;t need a sword, only conviction. I raise my edible napkin, I smear the world&#039;s glue on it, I let the sprinkles fall like stars on a dark night.
